Wanstead started running Colts sides in the 1960s, with youth and mini rugby fully introduced in the 1980s. The old club history records a youth setup that caters for most age groups and draws players from Redbridge and beyond.
The club has long-standing touring links, including Ecole Rugby Club Jacou near Montpellier, and youth tours to France, Amsterdam and Wales.

What ages does Wanstead RFC cater for?
Little Herons is for ages 2 to 5, minis covers U6 to U12, and the youth section runs from U13 through to Colts.
When and where are Little Herons sessions?
Little Herons meets at 10:30am on Sundays from September to March at Centenary Field, Roding Lane North, Woodford Green, IG8 8JY. There is no membership scheme—just come along.
