A warm welcome back to all members young and old. I hope you all had a great summer?
The management committee and I have been working tirelessly over the off-season to ensure that we are ready as a community rugby club, to welcome all returners and newcomers to the sport and our family friendly club. This includes continuing to improve the clubhouse and playing facilities, development and training to support current and new mini & junior coaches, and preparing a strategic plan to support the future development and growth of our fantastic club. If I may, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues on the management team. Alot of work has been carried out recently and their commitment to the club is nothing short of amazing.
Its back to business this Sunday 3rd September for our Minis & Juniors. Training for most starts at 10am. We welcome players of all abilities so dont forget to bring a friend to give it a try. There will be a BBQ after to welcome everyone back.
Pre season training has gone very well for the seniors. The services of Essex Boot Camp was well received at the start followed by the work of our new senior coaching team led by David Wiggins. Their final preseason friendly is this Saturday 2nd September at Canvey Island RFC. Kick offs commence at 2pm so if you are free and fancy a day on the Essex coast watching some Rugby, please pop over.
Saturday 9th September and the journey in the new London 2 North East league following our promotion begins. A 3pm home kick off versus Harlow RFC. Our last encounter at home led to a 31-12 win so should be entertaining. Please come down and support.
Over the course of the season there will be plenty of social events. The first is a matchday lunch on Saturday 23rd September. Details are on our website but for any further info please contact Michelle Cooper on 07921 250845.
